Congregational Visoning Meeting
The Reverend Pegi Ridout has been an Intentional Interim Minister since 2001 and has served 7 congregations since then in that capacity, as well as doing similar work in 4 congregations in the 1980s. She has experience in urban, rural, and suburban congregations of all sizes and spent a decade developing a new community of faith.
She is trained and experienced both as a conflict resolution facilitator and as a coach of those preparing for ordained ministry and interim ministry, and is a member of the faculty of the Interim Ministry Network. She offers custom-designed workshops for congregations on identity, mission, and growth
On Saturday May 3rd, Rev Ridout will be at St. James to lead the congregation through our journey in identifying who we are and offering suggestions to get SJUC back on track for a vibrant future.
Topics of discussions could be:
1) Who are we as a church now, and who do we want to be?
2) What are our priorities of faith and ministry?
3) How to plan our congregational redevelopment pathway
4) Conflict within committees (control, bullying, etc)
5) Burnout of lay leadership
6) Encouraging the implementation of new ideas
7) Welcoming new members into leadership well.
8) How do we treat conflict as a gift?
These are only a few of the questions that may come to mind as we discern. This is why we need your help to identify questions that Rev Ridout can help us answer and guide us in our journey of faith.
We have placed sheets of paper for the congregation to ask questions for this event. This way, we can get a better understanding of the concerns of the congregation. We would love for everyone to attend and ask questions but even if you cannot attend, this is the perfect way to raise your concerns.
Please fill out one sheet of paper with your question and once completed, put it in the box at the narthex. Take more sheets if you have multiple questions. Your name is optional.
The deadline will be April 27th so we will have enough time to prepare for the event on May 3rd.
The sign-up sheet is by the entrance way so we have a better idea of how many people to accommodate for lunch.
This event is on Saturday May 3rd from 10:00 – 4:00 p.m. with lunch provided.
The schedule is for Rev Ridout to speak from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
