Guitar Group

Thanks to the leadership of Bob Harris and Gord Burrell, we are going to continue the ” Guitar Group” this Thursday at St. James, beginning at 7:30pm (after junior choir practice) and ending at 8:15pm (for the start of adult choir practice).  Please pass this  information along to others at church who might be interested in joining.
Calling all new and not so new guitar players. This is a continuation of our “adult and child/youth lessons” that started in the spring. New people welcome! Come and have fun learning together on Thursday from 7:30 – 8:00 pm. Free, music will be provided.
Now that most of us have a few basic chords under our belt, we are going to invite people to come with a song that they would like to play through with the group (e.g., a song they like, that they would like to learn how to play, to share with the group).  There are a bunch of different websites to find EASY guitar songs.  ultimateguitar.com is one (you can get free stuff without a membership, although they will encourage you to buy one!).  Each time we meet, we will play through as many songs as we can with everyone – we can make some photocopies at church from your computer print out for those there, and play along.  This way, we will learn some new music and have fun together improving our guitar/ukulele skills!

Christmas Eve service

Family-Friendly Christmas Eve Service for All Ages. Listen to the Christmas Story “As told by Chocolate Bars”! Participate in singing Christmas Carols. The evening concludes with breaking open a Pinata together, as per the Mexican tradition of Los Posadas, where the community helps each other to overcome challenges, and then shares in the “rewards” (treats)! A wonderful way to start Christmas!
