St. James uses the Rotational Model
for its Sunday School Program. Every four weeks, students learn a new Bible
Story. Each Sunday, we meet together as a large group for stories and songs, and
then the children break into smaller age-groups and rotate through various
workshops, all based on the current Bible story or theme. This means that over
the course of a four-week rotation, children will experience four different
interactive and exciting approaches to learning (e.g. drama, cooking, computers,
St. James' four rotation areas are:
Creation Station. Through art, cooking, and crafts students spend time thinking about the story as they create different projects 'hands on'.
Computer Lab. We have a variety of different interactive programs to help children remember the stories they are learning.
Drama. Students will participate in skits, mini-dramas, tableaus, or they may watch a movie (with popcorn, of course) and see the story in a new way.
Games. Through interactive games, students work with the various elements of the stories and get to know each other a little better.
