Serving Others

The Seniors’ Luncheon is held on the 1st Thursday of each month and a hot lunch is served. There is always lively conversation and participants enjoy good homemade food and good companionship. A half hour program follows lunch. New folks are always welcome. The cost is $6.00. Call Marty Linton 416-654-1907 to advise if you are coming and to arrange a ride if necessary.

The St. James Garden Club   The Garden Club continues to offer the congregation and community beautiful lawns and garden. A few of the outstanding features of the landscape have been the gorgeous display or roses, particularly in the courtyard; the creation of a new garden bed on the west side of the driveway in memory of a devoted garden member, Don Jacobs; the improved appearance of the various garden beds in the parking lot; a new cross in front of the church constructed by George Switzwer; and the patio in the courtyard designed by Myron Boyko and built by Art and son Peter Freeman.

Tray Favours  also known as “Glue, Giggle and Gab” meet every Tuesday 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. from September to mid-June.  They make nearly 500 seasonal favours for Valentines, Easter, Halloween and Christmas.  These add some cheer to the meal trays of the residents at Eatonville (formerly Highbourne) Lodge on The East Mall in Etobicoke, at the McCall Centre beside Trillium Health Centre Queensway site, Tyndale Nursing Home in Mississauga, at Wesburn Manor and The Westbury on The West Mall.  While sharing conversation and a bag lunch, they cut, glue and decorate.  Joan Walker coordinates this caring ministry and some of the tray favours are pictured.  All are welcome to join us any Tuesday.
