Children & Youth

Children of All Ages Are Always Welcome at St. James!

Children are an important part of our regular programming. Beginning with the Sunday Worship service, where time is set aside for an interactive children’s story or activity based on the week’s theme. After the story time, children ages 4 and up are invited to go to our new Sunday School area, where our teaching teams always have something special lined up. A nursery is provided for children under 4.

At St. James we provide the following programs for children, youth and families (please click on the titles for more information):

Gospel Adventure
An on-line resource for families, Gospel Adventure is a collection of stories, commentary and fun activities for all ages based on readings from the new testament. This provides a wonderful opportunity for families to share a story and some thoughts about the bible and faith.

Sunday School
While we offer Children’s programs during the month of July, our Sunday School really gets going on the second Sunday in September at 10:30.  Come join us!  St. James has adopted a new approach to it’s Sunday School program, the rotational model (more information …).

Youth Group
Our active high school youth get together for a time of friendship, fun and learning. For more information call Rev. Coral: 416-622-4113.

Confirmation Classes
St. James offers a faith formation program to help young people (age 15+) learn more about their faith, the expression of their faith and the United Church of Canada. Please call the church office and speak to Rev. Coral for more details: 416.622.4113

Christian Magic Classes
Rev. Coral teaches a series of six, one-hour classes for 8-12 year olds, using magic tricks to teach bible stories. We hope to offer these classes again, and plan to offer a Magic Class for adults who would like to use this fun-filled approach with their children and grandchildren.  Please keep watching for them in the Fall.
