Making Connections (continued)
There are certainly many examples of people who have gone through experiences that are like Cassandra the Caterpillar’s, or the grain of wheat that Jesus talks about. Joni Eareckson Tada dove into a shallow lake and was paralysed from the neck down. She left a lot of things behind, but she grew through her challenges, she learned things that she may have never learned before the accident. Through her faith she became a respected painter and author; and because she would not believe that God had abandoned her; rather, she believed that God had called her through her injury, she also became an evangelist and advocate for people with physical challenges.
We are never alone. God’s transformational love is always with us. It is something upon which we can always rely. Whatever we face, wherever our path leads, we can grow through it. We always have this hope in God.*
