Bosco the Bear (continued)

Bosco wished he was with his bee friends, who didn’t ask anything from him except his stories. Then he remembered that the bees often spoke of a honeysuckle hedge at the end of the forest that had the sweetest nectar of all. “That’s what I will do,” Bosco said to himself, “I will go to the end of the forest and bring some honeysuckle flowers to my friends the bees, perhaps they will forgive, and we can go back to visiting.”

Bosco came to his friends the bees with a fresh cutting of honeysuckle flowers. The bees were very happy to see their friend. “I’m sorry that I took all your honey. All I thought about was my cave and how special gifts the other bears brought were, I forgot how special your friendship was and how important the honey is to you. I know that you love the nectar of the honeysuckle hedge, I hope you will take my gift and forgive me.”

From that afternoon on, Rosco would bring something special for the bees to remind himself of their special friendship, and they spent many wonderful summer days eating nectar and honey, enjoying each other’s company.   the end
