Bosco the Bear (continued)

Every day more and more bears stopped by Bosco’s cave with gifts and asked for honey. Bosco became so busy, that his visits with the bees got shorter and shorter. It wasn’t long before he stopped spending time with them and would simply ask for more honey. The bees were very worried about their friend, because he no longer spent any time with them, and would only ask for more honey. They were also worried because they were running out of honey to give. One day, when Russell Robin stopped by, they asked him if he could speak to the bear. Russell went to the cave where Bosco lived, there were a lot of bears around and Bosco was handing out honey and receiving gifts. After all the bears had left, Russell flew into Bosco’s cave and perched on a rock next to him. “The bees are very worried,” he said, “they miss talking to you.”

“I don’t need to talk to bees anymore,” Bosco replied, “I have lots of bear friends visiting me, now, and I also have a soft warm cave to live in.”

A few more days past, and the bees ran out of honey. Bosco’s bear friends became very angry, then they stopped coming to his cave. Bosco was very much alone. He wished he had someone to talk to. He realised that the other bears were only his friend if he could sell them honey. next page
