Kaya's Wonderful World
Kaya, the Quail, had lived in the western meadow for many years, her many chicks were full grown and had left the thicket to start families of their own. Kaya enjoyed living in the meadow, but was becoming restless, she wanted to see what the world was like beyond the meadow. One morning she decided to go on an adventure, so she took some seeds that she had saved up from autumn, put them in a bag, and headed out of the meadow into the grassland beyond. She had been walking a while, when she came across some young squirrels. She looked around to see if their parents were anywhere near, but as much as she looked, she didn’t see anyone. There wasn’t even a tree nearby. The young squirrels looked tired and hungry, they seemed to be eating grass. Her heart went out to them. “They remind me of my own children,” she thought to herself, “They need something more nutritious. I know, I will give them my bag of seeds, I don’t need them as much as they do.” So she went over to the young squirrels and gave them her bag of seeds. “Thank you ma’am,” the squirrels said, “We were playing in the grass and have lost our way, could you show us the way back home?”
Kaya pointed them in the direction of the western meadow, pointing out that at this time of day, they should just follow the sun and they would find their way home. “Thank you again!.” the little squirrels called out as they head out toward the meadow.
